ABOUT US
The Library of Distilled Spirits' philosophy is inspired by Charles H. Baker Jr.’s turn-of-the-century drinking travelogue, Around the World with Jigger, Beaker and Flask.
In 1931, Baker took an odyssey to discover the finest drinks in the world’s most exotic places. He traveled from Cairo to Mindanao, all the way to Borneo, on to Jaipur, Yokohama, and beyond. Everywhere he traveled he found a bar, a bartender, and a carefully prepared version of a cocktail. He documented his findings in The Gentleman’s Companion, Volume II: An Exotic Drinking Book, which was subsequently published as Around the World with Jigger, Beaker and Flask.
Sometimes playful, sometimes serious, our drinks are always crafted with the finest spirits and house-made ingredients.
